Options Trading

Equity options, essential to modern portfolio management techniques, are integral to the services provided by Pulse Trading.

We trade options in all venues, like we do stocks, using our experience and knowledge of multiple liquidity points to decide between electronic or floor options markets – or a “hybrid” combination of the two – for best executions.

This “blended trading” approach is aided by the existence of the Options Linkage Authority (OLA) that connects all the U.S. options exchanges. But while buy-side traders and their brokers all have access to OLA, Pulse offers valuable additional advantages for trading options, including:

  1. Our strict “no conflict” policy

  2. Skilled blended trading techniques

  3. Expert options traders in five cities nationwide, and

  4. Smart technology made smarter by the expertise of Pulse’s hands-on traders

The electronic trading revolution has triggered immense changes in the marketplace for equity options in the past few years, yet this specialized segment of the securities industry is still only 35 years old.  When the CBOE became the first exchange to trade listed options on April 26, 1973, fewer than 1,000 contracts were traded on that first day.  Today, average daily volume on the two largest options exchanges alone, the CBOE and ISE, easily exceeds three million contracts.

Powerful ideas not only move markets, they change them.
